After devouring delicious Malay kuihs at Bawang Merah one day, the #hungryexplorer crew were still hungry so we headed upstairs to, well, Upstairs Cafe to indulge in even more yummy food. We think we may have found one of the best red velvet cakes around! With a fluffy and moist centre topped off by a rich cream cheese frosting that wasnt too sweet, we were completely sold. Luckily, we only ordered a cupcake (RM5) or we wouldve eaten a whole cake! Upstairs Cafe doesnt only do their sweet treats well, but they serve up some mean main dishes too. We went for the seafood aglio olio (RM13.90) which came with a generous amount of fresh mussels, prawns, and squid. The perfectly al dente pasta was sprinkled with fragrant herbs that infused the dish with savoury goodness and a slight spiciness which we loved. Instead of our usual hot coffee, we went for an iced caramel chocolate (RM9.50) that wasnt cloying, a refreshing drink to cool off from the sweltering heat. With a clean contemporary setting where diners can enjoy delicious savoury and sweet dishes to the strains of jazz, its no wonder the place is always crowded! #hgwmy bit.ly/1xDVolC
