After ditching my band due to what I may have mistakenly perceived as a lack of enthusiasm, I came very close to just giving up and re-re-re-tiring from music altogether. Ive got another novel to write, after all. But damn this music, this playing, this satisfaction that I get from strumming a guitar and warbling. Dont guess Ill ever give it up. Messaged an ol buddy about sittin in with his band to do a few covers, runnin a Craigslist ad to try and get some more pickers interested in doing some recording and goin to Nashville in late Oct. And, appropriately enough, sat tonight and learned Steve Earles I Aint Ever Satisfied. Im a stubborn fool, holdin onto hope which has, unrealistically or otherwise, haunted my every waking hour. Which I fear (and pray) will only leave as I draw my last breath. Which I hope (and pray) wont be for awhile yet...
