After doing 2 ukulele lesson series via @instagram, on the requests of jazz guitar fans and students Ive talked to, heres a new series for aspiring jazz guitarists. This is the 12th of 50 #azguitar Instant Jazz Guitar Licks! These are designed to be bite-sized 15 second or less lessons to help you learn the jazz language as easy as possible. Learn a new lick every day and be on your way to be a jazz guitarist. Nothing beats learning directly from watching and since these are so short, you can watch them again and again till you can play the licks. If youve ever been overwhelmed trying to learn long jazz solos and getting nowhere, this series will hopefully help you learn step-by-step even if youve never played jazz licks before. #azguitar Instant Jazz Guitar Licks #12 Todays lick is a lick for AbMaj7(#11). This line is inspired by Julian Lages playing. This line combines various arpeggios within Ab Lydian. I used: Ab(add9), AbMaj7, Ab, an implied D-7b5(11) ending on Ab, Eb and Bb closed voiced triad for a rhythmic ending. Try this fingering and then experiment with other options to develop your fretboard knowldege. Listen closely to the dynamics and articulation within the line to get the flow of this melody. Have fun and good luck! #Jazzguitar #jazz #jazzguitarist #bebop #julianlage #learning #learningneverends #takamine #acousticguitar #15secondsong #15secondcover #musiclife #education #malaysian #azsamad #berklee #melodies #melodic #improvisation #jazzimprovisation #harmony #joy #happiness #happy #licks #kualalumpur
