After exactly 2 months spent walking, hobbling, hitching and Vipassana Meditating across the North Island, Ive made it across the turquoise blue waters through the Maze of the Marlborough Sounds to the South Island!!! Starting tomorrow, and after much planning, trepidating, and hemming&hawing over gear, food, and maps...I dive deep into the Richmond Ranges for 8-10 days (and carrying 10 days of food in my pack too...so heavy!) Finally getting into the real mountains that will be my tramping ground for pretty much the next 2-3 months of wandering my way south across New Zealand. Next stop will be in St Arnaud in Nelson Lakes National Park! I am bursting with giddy gratefulness to be free and have the ability to be a tiny walking entity glimpsing the awesomeness of this wild landscape. Love and Blissings!
