After exploring all the possible avenues of resolving the unending conflicts in the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) and the persistent complaints from nurses, NNA-Kenya has formerly sought to file a petition in the industrial court that will see the current stalemate in KNUN resolved. The association was very instrumental in mobilization of nurses to support the calls for registration of the nurses’ union and utilized huge amounts of resources to realize the dream of a nurses union hence remains accountable to its members in the wake of the current crisis perturbing the union. As a members’ driven organization and in response to the identified needs of the nurses, we are collecting signatures and details of nurses as evidence that there is need for the courts to mitigate the current impasse. We kindly request nurses to provide their details in the form attached below to petition for the removal of the entire NEC of KNUN, review of the KNUN constitution and holding of fresh elections during which nurses will appoint their desired leaders. This will go a long way to sanitize our profession and permanently end the power struggles that constantly damage the image of our profession thus allowing the union to deliver its mandate.
