After five years of patient collaboration between ophthalmologists, oncologists, nurses, pathologists, child life leaders, parents, survivors, scientists and Ministry of Health, Kenyas government is the first in the world to adopt national best practice guidelines for evidence based retinoblastoma care. Guidelines create common standards of care and also motivate scientific research to fill knowledge gaps. Government adoption of the guidelines enables opportunities for implementation that would not otherwise exist, and commits those involved to the process of delivering the best possible quality care for all children, survivors and their families. We are very, very proud of this major milestone, and thank every one of our supporters who have helped us on the road to this momentous point!
