After getting his mediport accessed, a peripheral blood test done from his hand, nose swab for the flu, throat culture, urine culture, chest xray and more so far we know that Michael has tested positive for strep throat. Hope hospice will monitor the blood cultures to make sure there is no line infection also. Hes received an IV dose of antibiotics and will be sent home with antibiotics. I have to call Dr. MacArthur and Dr. W in the morning to see how they want to deal with his tendency to get c-diff on antibiotics given that now we have nothing in his belly at all. Yes, a raging crazy mom rant on sick kids in school is coming but for now, Im bringing my boy home and so beyond grateful for that because when a temp goes from normal to 103 in a matter of a 1/2 hour in a kid like Michael discussions are had that no one should ever have.
