After getting platelets on Sunday and 2 units of blood yesterday, Ethans white blood cell count came up a lot overnight. Now his mouth sores will have some help healing, and hopefully the fevers will stop. The fevers are caused from neutropenia-which basically means his body is panicking because his white blood cell count is so low and it thinks there is an infection somewhere. Now that they are rising, the fevers should stop. They started him on TPN (Nutrition via IV) overnight also. It has been several days since he has been able to eat or drink anything, so this should help him to feel better faster. The plan is to let him go home tomorrow assuming the fever stays away. So please pray hard that he will be home on Christmas Eve and be able to wake up Christmas morning with his brother and have an amazing Christmas with his family celebrating the birth of Jesus!! Love you all!!! #ethanstrong 💪
