After having met resistance the previous day at la Louviere, the 1/141st bn spent the night on the high ground of La Louviere agaisnt fire fight -- following their route on the 24 october moring to their objective, the high ground of Vanémont, via le Col de la Croisette, Col des Huttes, Trapin des saules, the guys of the 141st had to etablish a strong position in th area of Le trapin des saules at the end of the period : 16.15 : Cos B & C well down toward their objective to about Pt D also shooting. Co A less mortars, puhsed out for counterattack. 16.52 : Co wants 1st bn to dig in and consolitade positions. 17.30 : Cos A & C vic le col des Huttes. Co B along trail to the rear. Without the Texas boys know it, the germans cut off the supply route, cut off the route and made impossible a return to their initial positions...... In the meantime, the 100th, the 2/442 and the 3rd bn 442 enjoyed rest in the area of Belmont,.... No one cant imagine at that time, that it is gonna be the beginning of a long story......
