After having my hands operated on, and stitched up, to remove the remaining glass from my bike accident, I was walking down the street in Zagreb this morning when a man physically aggressed his partner and threw her against a door and ultimately to the ground. I couldnt help stopping and making my presence felt. The man turned my way and came up very close threatening me too. I could not defend myself with my two injured hands. I had to abandon myself to the situation. Only my presence, eye contact and aura were my strength. The man finally fled when the police turned up. People dont dare interfere, in what seems wrong, out of fear of receiving pain themselves. Doing what seems right doesnt necessarily mean youll be rewarded. In my case, it has often been the opposite.
