After hearing the wrong word from the wrong person, Elijah lost heart, he forgot how The Lord had cared for, moved him, and used him in the past.... Much like Elijah, we run, leaving those who can care for us, and nurture us, we get caught up in all that is wrong at the moment instead of looking back at all that Jesus has done in our lives and all that has been done through us. We know that the wilderness that we are in is just like the place we are going to. Dont forget the basic, 1. Be refreshed by the bread of life and the living water 2. Listen carefully during the quietest times 3. Follow carefully every instruction give by God 4. (Most important) Do not quit, give up, lay down or turn aside... If Elijah had never gone through the wilderness, we would have never had Elisha, If he had retired or given up Elisha would have never received the wisdom or the double portion, I want to ask you as The Lord ask Elijah... What are you doing here ? And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. And it came to pass after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth.” Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 18:1 1 Kings 19:1-2, 9
