After last years hurricanes we decided to leave Cabo after 4 years living there. It breaks our hearts to see our friends suffering like this and to see some of them acting like animals. People need to understand that it is not safe to be in the Eastern Pacific during hurricane season. Los Cabos used to be closed during this time but because of greed for money they forget the reality that being in harms way is not an accident it is usually a short sighted case of ignorance. Also I recognized that a lot of the new construction was not sufficient at all and again ignorance plays a big role in the lack of preparation in a place that knows September is very dangerous. I also think many of those tourists are ignorant and should pay attention to climate conditions when planning their travel. Why would anyone consider going to Los Cabos in September? It is hot, muggy and very dangerous. Why do people choose to build right next to the open Pacific Ocean? We all know that some day a 100 foot tsunami will wipe it all out. Unless you are very rich and can afford to why take the risk? We feel very fortunate we figured this out and left so my family will not have to endure such suffering. Los Cabos is a great place to visit but like the great captain Cortez said 400 years ago when he abandoned his settlement Baja is a hellish place to live.
