After listening to the speeches from Elizabeth Windsor&Co yesterday. I got the feeling that a United Ireland might well be on the horizon? Well, if that lot have anything to do with it, it certainly wont resemble the kind of United Ireland so many struggled and died for. It wont be an Ireland that puts the interests of its people first. It wont be the Socialist Republic our martyrs gave their lives for. It wont be the United Ireland so many rotted in gaols for. It will be an Ireland that will continue to be subservient to the foreign powers and their institutions that have dominated us, both old and new..... The IMF, EU, US and the British will continue to run the show here. If they have their way, the only thing that will change here will be the colour of the flag and the accents of the powerful. If you remove the English army tomorrow and hoist the green flag over Dublin Castle, unless you set about the organization of the Socialist Republic your efforts would be in vain. England would still rule you. She would rule you through her capitalists, through her landlords, through her financiers, through the whole array of commercial and individualist institutions she has planted in this country and watered with the tears of our mothers and the blood of our martyrs.
