After many read throughs of the Harry Potter books, Ive come to the conclusion that there are NOT bathrooms within the house common rooms or dorm areas, or at least in the Gryffindor ones. I think there are probably chamber pots in the individual dorms, but no running water. Chamber pots are mentioned several times as a normal thing, so it wouldnt be too much of a stretch to say theyd be in the dorms as well. And there is no shower or anything in there because in OotP, Ron and Ginny come from quidditch practice covered in mud and wanting to go to bed, but they have to go take baths first, while Harry and Hermione return to the common room without them and are joined by them later.
