After months of searching, Toronto has a new, dedicated comedy venue. On April 1st, Carmine Lucarelli and I take over as the owner/operators of the top two floors of the Black Swan. There will be many changes over the next few months: renovations, new name, a school, a repertory cast... it goes on. Now is the time to get involved with Black Swan Comedy. Monday at 8pm - 200% Vodka (PWYC) 200% Vodka is a new show featuring the burgeoning Black Swan Rep Company. Hosted by Matt McCready, Kris Bowman, and Devon Hyland Featuring: Free Pizza! w/ Nicki Gallo, Jessica Perkins, Ted Hambly, Simon McCamus, and Raj Vaidyaraj. Coached by Moniquea Marion. The Hylanders w/ Angele Morgan, Kyle Betts, Noemi Salomon, Kyle Scott, Oliver Georgiou, Alicia Douglas, Amy Zuch and Stuart Vaughan. Wednesday Night Drop In (Wednesday at 7pm - Third Floor) The Wednesday Night Improv Drop In is a three-hour improv class taught by Ralph MacLeod (AD Black Swan Comedy, Founder of Bad Dog Theatre). The class is taught to the level of the individuals who drop in. Come as frequently, or seldom, as you like. This class is limited to 12 people. Sign up by replying to this email to make sure a spot is reserved for you. The class goes from 7-10. The cost is $20. This weeks focus: Make It Matter This class is not recommended for beginners. Please see the Saturday Drop Ins from 6-7:30pm ($5) Saturday at 6pm. Beginner Drop In Saturday at 6pm. This 90 minute drop in is open to anyone. No experience or pre-registration necessary. $5 Saturday at 8pm - Springing Up Baby ($10) It’s time to say, ‘Take a hike!’ to Old Man Winter and shake off the cold with a dose of hot comedy. Come celebrate the Vernal Equinox and all things spring on Saturday, March 22nd at 8. The tulips will be budding and so will the laughs. Packed with top talent in Toronto, Springing Up Baby is a hugely entertaining evening that highlights outstanding Canadian improvisers.
