After more than 10 years the United States is set to finally host another World Championships, and now you can compete in this special event — theres no need to qualify! Registration is now open for a newly announced Open Age-Group Sprint Race, to be held Saturday, Sept. 19 as part of the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago. Note: If you have qualified to represent the United States as a member of Team USA at the ITU Standard (Olympic-distance) or Sprint World Championships, USA Triathlon ([email protected]) will contact you directly to register for those races. Team USA athletes competing in the Standard World Championships on Sept. 20 are ineligible to participate in the Sept. 19 Open Race per ITU rules. Those competing in the Standard World Championships are ineligible to participate in the Open Race per ITU rules. Athletes competing in only the Aquathlon World Championships and/or the Sprint World Championships may, however, participate in the Open Age-Group Race.
