After nearly two decades of volcanic activity, which would forever change the very nature of the Caribbean island of Montserrat, it is so very gratifying to see the support and efforts of others, especially those in a position to elicit change, that have embraced the philosophy of our MONTSERRAT 2020 campaign, creating the Worlds 1st GREEN Nation montserrat2020.org/ While the effort has received support from wide and near, including Nobel Prize winners, and many celebrated names from the worlds of art, sports, education, religion, government and business, and most importantly Montserratians on and off island, it was the announcement by the Premier and the ruling party of their desires to create a green nation that was both unexpected and jubilantly received. Together we can change the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean into the Emerald GREEN Island of Montserrat. A Most Peaceful and Thoughtful New Years to All.
