After one year of waiting for an RSPCA case to come to court , today we can reveal that a Freshfields horse was badly neglected by local man Iwan Pennant Williams of Cwm Pennant,Garndolbenmaen. Bay mare Abby spent 6 years in this home but during the middle part of 2013 the level of care give to her deteriorated to such an extent we were obliged to seize her and return her to the safety of Freshfields. Staff were shocked to see the difference in this once stunning and well built horse. Abby was emaciated and suffering from a heavy burden of worms and lice causing most of her hair to fall out. She was depressed and starving but after a month of good care at Freshfields she was almost as good as new. As soon as she was seized, we contacted the RSPCA and today local Horse Show judge Iwan Pennant Williams changed his Not Guilty plea to Guilty He was given a 24 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay two thousand six hundred court costs. Abby will spend the rest of her life at the Freshfields Wales shelter and as seen in the Before and After photos, continues to thrive under our care.We are grateful to the RSPCA for bringing this case to court so justice could be served.
