After only a couple of days its clear that WGC is getting some traction with this video. Even the CRTC is listening -- theyve asked for their own copy. So this is the part where I say, please dont just view, dont just share. If you like what you see in this vid please do what 95% of us never, ever do -- sign up on YouTube and leave a comment on the video. Get your parents, friends, kids to do the same. The CRTC is serious about this whole Lets Talk TV thing but its mostly optics. And the optics are that the people who contribute to the CRTCs discussion are mostly cranks who want to talk net neutrality or the new world order or How liberals eat babies or something. There are going to be powerful corporate forces saying things, baldfaced, like, Canadians dont want to watch Canadian TV or they dont care. And then they whine and wiggle to spend less money. Every comment extolling a show you love or a Canadian memory you have, or expanding on some of the thoughts the video goes into is a powerful repudiation of that narrative. There are already comments there, so you dont even have to be the first. But I warn you that in Classic Canadian Fashion theres already a large number of comments that arent even from Canadians. Does it really take Americans and international fans to stand up for Canadian TV? Stick your head up, just for a minute, and say something. Itll feel good. Talk about Relic or how Street Legal or Traders or Avonlea shaped you. Talk about how you love Lost Girl or Continuum or anything else. Leave a comment, back up that like.
