After over 40 heads of state marched in #Paris this weekend to honor the 12 victims of the #CharlieHebdo magazine shooting, the United States is being criticized for not sending any high-ranking administration officials. The U.S. was represented by Ambassador Jane Hartley. Despite being in Paris for a terrorism conference, Attorney General Eric #Holder did not participate. Potential security concerns was one of the reasons cited for the president not attending. Secretary of State John #Kerry, who is traveling to Paris on Thursday, addressed the controversy today. The relationship with France is not about one day or one particular moment, its an ongoing, long-time relationship that is deeply, deeply based in the shared values and particularly the commitment that we share to freedom of expression, Kerry said. What do you think? Should the United States have sent an administration official to support the march?
