After posting this status, I might receive a lot of calls and messages from my friends, well-wishers and inquisitive people. For some this story might be an eye opener while for some it could be a joke - something to laugh about and make fun of. Although I am perfectly fine and safe, I need everyone to ponder and reflect on a few significant things and try to bring in some change in the attitude towards people who are in dire need of help. I write this real story of my life in pain and shock and a lot of things to reflect upon. Some might call it drama, non-sense , philosophy or baptize this story with new names, for me it’s an eye opener. I am sharing this real personal story on a public forum so that people know what reality is, #Last #ni8 2.30 a.m at Nagpur after complet my #Shoot... and act upon being a human being first. May be this post will bring change atleast in one person. Just a HOPE….. After shoot , me nd my model and my car is not starting so I took an auto. It was a little late by then, around 2:30 am precisely. My friend wanted to have something else to eat, so we stopped the auto to look for food. Unfortunately we found nothing, so my friend asked the auto driver to take a U turn. As the auto driver was about to take a turn, some stranger rather some “gunda” (thief) stops the auto. My model friend who is a little built scary nd Cry :( ,but im out of the auto to check with him as to why he stopped the auto. The stranger hits me wid my face and my frnds gets crying. Suddenly this guy gets into the auto and threatens me saying (in Hindi) “you owe me money, I have been looking for you for over 6 months now, give it back.” (That was his style of robbing). I was dumbstruck; I did not even know him. He wanted me to get down from the auto, but I refused to get down. He knew that I was weak and I could be his easy target to beat and make some money. I was nervous and I had two of my most significant assets of my life in two bags ,– camera and laptop. my Purse (8 thousand cash,5 ATM card nd 4 debate card) nd my Phn ipn6+ i will give it bcz he also try to hit my frnd also thats why i will give my PURSE, IPhn6+ but He dost nt stop and tried to snatch my bags but I held it tight.but Then I pleaded the auto driver to just move the auto quickly and we would ask my friend to get into the auto as soon as he starts the auto. But he doesnt move, the auto driver tells me “he is a gunda, he might beat me if I move the auto…” Again the gunda came back to the auto, he was again trying to snatch my bags, and I held them tight. I can’t let them go. They mean everything to me. I held them so tight crying out loud and kept screaming for help. Finally, the thief gave up and left. I asked my friend to get into the auto quickly and we pleaded the auto driver to rush. Finally, we left from there with no loss of any material things. People have become so inhuman and scared. My tearful eyes looked at the eyes of the people walking by for help, I was crying out loud, they had a chance to help but no one came. I cried and pleaded the auto driver to just move the auto; he had a chance to help us but no help. I called 100 for some help. They werent alert. I did not even get a call back from them to check if I was safe. They could have made an attempt to find my location through some technology and rushed to rescue. I feared this guy could hurt me so badly. I feared – it is all over. I was fortunate and blessed that he did not hit or harm me; he just wanted money,my iphn 6 and wanted to snatch away my bags. Thankfully and God , I got saved from the robbery too. However, it is so disappointing to see and witness that people who could have really helped us, did nothing. It was like 1 for 10. Ten normal men could defeat one strong man. I am thankful to God and for being there and for protecting me and my female model. But I got back from that place with so many bad memories. People had options to help us, help the ones who were in dire need of help but no one tried. For me the thing is not about the thief, but about the people who had a chance to help but they withdrew and acted inhuman, it is about the technology and alertness our police system follows. Now some might come up with stupid things like- why did you have to go out late night, we told you Mumbai is not safe, welcome to the world of reality, awww you are such a drama, you are a pussy and so many things. I honestly feel that it’s not about the place or time, it is about people choosing an option to help other human beings, that would make all the difference. I trust it’s some of the good deeds that I have done, has saved me today. Humanity should not die. Help one another. With love, #Photographer_Kumar_Roshan! :(
