After reading a lot of comments on this page and other Vol fan - TopicsExpress

After reading a lot of comments on this page and other Vol fan pages, people need to understand a few things. First and foremost, these players and coaches who put on the Orange every Saturday want to win just as bad if not more than we, the fans, want them to. Do you think these players and coaches have enjoyed the last two games? A lot of the people complaining, crying, and bellyaching are the same ones who were shouting from the rooftops a few short weeks ago after taking Georgia to overtime and then beating South Carolina. We are exactly where we thought we would be. Tennessee has played 9 games. The record is 4-5. The Vols sit two wins from bowl eligibility. If someone told you in August where the Big Orange would be on November 3rd, would the record shock anybody? Wouldnt you have gladly taken the results of the Georgia and South Carolina games given the circumstances Butch Jones and his staff inherited? Would losses to Alabama, Oregon, and Florida been surprises to anybody? I think we are all a little surprised as to how Missouri has bounced back from a disappointing 2012 season but they are a Top 10 team this year, they have beaten everyone on their schedule except South Carolina. Give credit where credit is due. Gary Pinkel is a good coach and is in his 13th year at Missouri. He has taken them to eight bowl games in eleven years. But back to the Big Orange... This is a team playing under its fourth head coach in six years. Its easy to get on the internet and become a keyboard cowboy and trash talk the team and staff you are supposedly a fan of. What a lot of people are doing are just displaying their ignorance of the game of football in a very public format. Players and coaches, current and former, see your comments. What would you think if Pig Howard or Inky Johnson were reading some of your comments? Scan through the comments on the post I made about Tee Martins record setting day at South Carolina if you dont think former Vols see what is posted. This team didnt ask for the storm that has ripped through the football program over the last half decade. This coaching staff took over a program that, in many peoples eyes, had lost its luster. And like it or not, it had! Coach Jones took the job knowing what kind of work it would take to return this team back to prominence. Its not going to happen nine games in to his first year in Knoxville. We have seen glimpses into a promising future and we have seen glimpses into a painful past. And we have seen both in the last month. All we can do as fans is support this team and staff. Thats all the team and staff want from us. They put in the work all year long, we watch them for a few hours on Saturdays. Get behind this team now or dont come running trying to hop on the bandwagon in the coming years when the Big Orange is back on top. That kind of behavior is reserved for that red team anyway. GO BIG ORANGE!!! BB
