After reading todays Daily News and seeing the article about fellow Penn Stater, Larry G. Patrick, I was inspired to write this... “TO TOUCH THE LIVES OF A PEOPLE” I Thank God and consider myself to be truly blessed as today I contemplate, consider and feel the depths and hearts of a people… FRIENDS, who were ever so conveniently…convened. Young black men and women embarking upon a journey called life. Brought to a place of discord called… Happy Valley. From different states, various upbringing and many types of thoughts and beliefs came together by God for a purpose and union greater than us. We were made for such a time that we would pour unto each other to shape our lives for one reason… to touch the lives of a people! Within the framework of a myriad of many diverse ways, we were made to touch the lives of a people by our individual and collective ways. In so many fields, so many areas of expertise, our families and communities are better for each nugget we shared among us. I AM YOU And YOU ARE WE And for every moment and every way we fulfill our purpose and destiny, I am never more proud and excited that I have the fortune of receiving from you as much I hope I have shared with you. I am just remembering and celebrating the many friends and the many days and nights that we shared up at Penn State… we became one. Ps. If I forgot to tag someone, chalk it up to my head not my heart
