After receiving hundreds of complaints to this page I feel the need to address the situation at the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter. These pics have ben sent to me by numerous people and they were taken from inside the shelter. There have been many great adoptions from this shelter and I am not here to discredit that at all. With all the great animal shelters out there I have only heard of two with complaints. The one I heard was from Perth Amboy who I know for a fact has revamped their shelter and is a very fine shelter these days as I have recently visited that shelter and seen for myself what a great job they are doing there! When the problems occurred at the Perth Amboy shelter it was being run by Richard Cieslesz and his wife Michal Cieslesz who were removed from that shelter only to resurface at the Helmetta Shelter!! How does that happen other then being politically connected to go from running the Perth Amboy shelter into the ground only to be given another shelter position!! My only concern is the ANIMALS!! I do not care how it gets done but this shelter needs to remain but MUST be overhauled at once!! If we have to I have several people who will gladly protest the many New Jersey Health Code Violations at this shelter! Please the powers that be take care of these problems so that it doesnt come to a nasty battle with protestors coming to Helmetta New Jersey. If need be we can have the local news stations as well as the New York stations to get the word out! Clean up this shelter and stop it from being a disgrace!! {Martin}
