After recent reports from owners of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 - TopicsExpress

After recent reports from owners of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 claiming the device refused to power on, even after a full night’s charge, RIM has finally acknowledged the problem and promises to be working on a fix. BlackBerry Bold 9900[A] limited number of customers have reported an issue where their device does not power on,” said a RIM spokeswoman in a statement to CNBC. She went on to say that the company is actively working on a software update to resolve this issue. While some BlackBerry Bold 9900 users were able to recover their devices thanks to a full software reset, others were forced to order replacements, only to have the same problem occur once more. Beyond that, it appears that BlackBerry Bold 9930 owners have also taken to the Internet to complain about a similar problem. The cause of this issue most likely has nothing to do with the hardware of the phones, rather it probably lies somewhere within the BlackBerry OS 7 operating system, as the issue often occurs after charging the phone. This is yet another problem RIM has faced in recent weeks, after a service outage plagued thousands of BlackBerry customers last month, leaving some without a proper connection for three days. Hopefully RIM will find a fix soon, as the new year is set to bring the introduction of the company’s first QNX-based OS, BBX.
