The truth is, looking after our families is such a great ibaadah in itself. We often undermine the greatness of this act of worship: Serving fellow Muslims. Sacrificing for their happiness. Toiling to see them prosper. What can be more rewarding then striving for the sake of Allah? There is no merit in performing extra voluntary acts of worship at the expense of our duties towards our spouse and children. May Allah bless us and our families always ameen.
