After relaxing and having family time all day Sunday and then spending last night in the hospital again (this little girl is giving me a run for my money), I needed to go grocery shopping today. There was literally nothing healthy left in this house seeing as the food for the week is usually bought and prepped on Mondays. I took Landon with me as I had no other choice and hoped he would behave; he hates to just sit in a cart for an hour without touching things. He was exceptionally good so I rewarded him by letting him get a sticker from one of the stupid machines by the door. He got a superhero one but it was the wrong one. He cried and yelled and I just stood, watching, trying to hide the tears that squeezed out of my eyes from pure exhaustion. Then a man came over, put two quarters in the machine, grabbed the sticker, and handed it to Landon. As my son reluctantly accepted it the man crouched down to his level and said Now you dont deserve this gift, but Im giving it to you anyways because Jesus gives to us even though were totally undeserving of it. Now, tell your mom you love her and do as she says. Landon thanked him and gave me a hug, ready to leave without a fight. I learned a little something about grace today.
