After resting up from the incredible weekend of the best rock & roll around, I feel it necessary to thank three outstanding organizations that helped make STANSTOCK 2014 a huge success. First, to the entire staff at ART DECO for their unending support and efforts when creating comfortable and decorative aesthetics for the block-box that is the Exhibition Hall @ Timonium Fairgrounds. Dan Grauer and his crack crew turned a blank canvas into a colorful (GO RAVENS) black & purple drapped display. The team began construction on Wednesday last and anything needed was immediately provided. Secondly, to GTCRUISERS (Craig & Chuck) and the always-smiling ladies and gentlemen behind the food bar and beer truck. The food was fresh and tasty and sated the masses and the beer was cold. You can sample their menu at any Cow Palace event throughout the year. Lastly, I need to send maximum kudos to Mike Scarinzi and his Aldo Audio team for providing the audio production gear and huge ears during both days of the event. My biggest fear prior to the event was the effect that 30 strong R&R bands might have on the acoustics in the room, but Mikes years of playing and providing audio for all kinds of venues played a major part in keeping the blend under control and presenting each and every group with an enjoyable level of volume and clarity. From loading in one stage and all the front of house stacks, dual boards and crisp monitors for both stages, each band was afforded a professional approach to their performances. Mike and the entire Aldo Audio team deserve high praise from us all. A successful event starts with those who you surround yourself with, and I applaud all three for making SS 2014 a memorable event for all who attended. Tom Carson
