After returning from a two week break, The Sticky Bandits were back at it Monday night kicking up mud and adding another notch in their elastic belts as they beat the Torah Nados 5-2 to stay undefeated at 3-0 on the season. Led by the powerful right foot of Alicia Stickey Hickey who was a perfect 2-2 on the night, the Bandits rallied from a 2 run deficit in the second inning for another come from behind victory. Michael Lovell Rouse dazzled in the field at the catcher position, catching a line drive pop-up that never went above the ankles and illegally pegging a female in the back of the head while she ran to first. Though that runner was deemed safe, it was a huge moral boost for the team to see Rouses canon in action. Brett Kent and David Stringer alternated innings on the rubber, holding the Torah Nados to 6 scoreless innings, helped mightily by the impenetrable field play of Tyler Morris, Iz Rizzo, and Steve Sancho. After knocking the rust off early, the bandits gelled together to hustle their way to another victory. The female Bandits led by example, beating out infield ground balls, leading utility fielder Nate Puza to take a chance on a bang bang play at home. The slide was perfect form, but the throw just beat him to the plate. Fortunately no blood was drawn, and Puzas slide recharged the easily amped team. When asked for a post game quote, head coach, sometimes short shop, and lead book keeper Ashleigh Lancaster said Lets go get drunk. And they did.
