After running around for over 8 hours under the sun in Katra Sadatganj i walked back to the mango tree area and asked if somebody had a bottle of water. A handful of local journalists and few officers of UP Police were standing there. Just then i felt two pairs of eyes on me and overheard a conversation. UP Cop to a local journalist : Ye mahilayein kyon aa jati hai yahan itni door beehad mein? Yahan to pani bathroom kisi ka koi vayvastha nahi hai. Journalist : Arre nahi sir, ajkal dilli mein to har media ke office mein saari ladkiyan hi hai bas. Yahi log to sab kaam kar rahi hai ajkal. UP Cop (almost in a singing loud UP tone) : Haan, wo to aap sahi keh rahe hain. Ladkiyon ko AAKARSHAN ki wajah se zyada aasani se khabar mil jata hoga na ! ********** Shocked, i turned around curiously to take a look on this cop who was talking all this knowing that his words are falling in my ears. As i stared back in anger, i noticed that he had 2 stars on his uniform. I thought to myself, these guys will never learn. Even after botching up the case and inviting world wide criticism and facing severe public anger, they are still on it. He is saying it on my face ! And then i smiled on his misery and walked away. #Badaun .
