After selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli for a fee of 37 million - TopicsExpress

After selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli for a fee of 37 million euros, Real Madrid are to turn their attentions to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. The transfer of Higuain is expected this week and Real Madrid will move for Luis Suarez, despite the protestations of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, according to a report in AS on Tuesday morning. Suarez joined up with Liverpool in Australia on Sunday and took part in his first training session of the campaign in Melbourne on Monday. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken of his desire to keep Suarez at Anfield but after a turbulent summer, if the right bid comes in for the Uruguayan, he could well depart. AS suggest that Liverpool were interested in Roberto Soldado, who appears on the verge of a move to Tottenham, as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez. Real Madrid meanwhile have turned their attentions to Suarez after Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed he will be staying at PSG. Arsenal are heavily linked with Suarez in the English press again today and it looks like a straight battle between the Gunners and Real Madrid for the Liverpool forward.
