After serving 25 years, 4 months, and 18 days...my brother has announced his retirement from the Auburndale Police Department. He began his career with the agency on May 1, 1989 as a reserve police officer. On May 13, 1989 he was hired as a full-time police officer. His career began as a police officer, he has been a field training officer, detective and lead officer. He has been a member of the agencys special enforcement unit, and honor guard. He served as a shift sergeant and lieutenant. During his tenure as lieutenant he has served as the patrol commander, supervised the agencys field training program and special enforcement unit. He has served as the agencys support services commander supervising records, coordinating off-duty details and served as the agencys training officer. Dannys last day will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014. I couldnt be more proud of him. The badge doesnt make him a hero, his heart does...live life bubba, you deserve it!
