After several confusing, conflicting, and misleading news reports, The SCEA would like to set the record straight on exactly what action has been taken on the Common Core State Standards. Please note that South Carolina has NOT withdrawn from the Common Core. The Senate this week approved a House compromise measure requiring a review of the Common Core standards in 2015. This action allows SC schools to continue using the reading and math standards already in place this year. The SCEA will continue to keep you posted. Thank you for your calls.
