After several months on hold, the city of Hot Springs is extending its planning jurisdiction outside city limits again. The state legislature earlier this year approved a bill that reduced those jurisdictions for cities the size of Hot Springs from five miles to one mile. City Manager David Watkins says that put a freeze on new developments on the outskirts of town while they redefined the new jurisdictions. City Directors this week approved the measure defining the new jurisdiction boundaries.
