After speaking to the annual convention of lawyers who defend the constitution, Shelia and visited the Civil Rights Museum, attached to the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was shot. Watching the videos from the Nashville Sit ins, walking inside the bus where Rosa Parks was arrested and hearing the words she heard, watching videos of the lunch counter scenes in Alabama and South Carolina and seeing the importance of a Supreme Court that declared, segregation and the classification of one race being declared second class humans, unconstitutional was a very painful and moving experience. There was minority protected by our Supreme Court, a wrong addressed that was certainly opposed by the majority but today we know that to continue allowing the majority rule of lynching, bombings and mistreatment of humans was wrong. I am glad it changed and hopefully will continue to change.
