These issues are the reason we launched the Global Career Centre (GCC) in 2010. The GCC is focused on adding value to students and graduates by referring them to employers that need their unique skills and experience. We are leading the way by bridging the gap between the learning and working sectors, making it easier for employers to fulfill their recruitment needs. Career Placement Assistance for Alumni The GCC provides career placement assistance for all Sprott Shaw graduates. The GCC’s team of experienced HR professionals contact employers within a targeted geographical area to search and consolidate job openings. Qualified graduate applications are then referred to the GCC’s list of employer partners. The service provides career opportunities for the graduate, based on the graduate’s academic and professional experience, job preferences, and background. Co-op and Internship Placement for Students The GCC assists current students with their program’s co-op and internship placements, which are required for graduation. The GCC works together with Sprott Shaw campuses to search for and secure placements in a variety of industries. Through these placements students are provided with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and on the job skills by the time that they graduate. Short-term and Part-time Placement Special placements are available through the GCC for current students and graduates in both short-term and part-time positions.
