After studying/teaching some American History to my 2nd and 4th - TopicsExpress

After studying/teaching some American History to my 2nd and 4th grader, I found myself pondering the question - For those that do not believe there is a God, where do they say our human rights come from? If this is so, how can it be wrong for any man/group/government to impose their will upon another man or group of people? Weve seen this happen throughout history and in those stories, most normal, non-believing-in-a-higher-power people look at them and say, Oh, that was wrong and a sad time in human history. Why was it wrong? Who says so? So, here I am, at 11:30pm while the rest of my house sleeps, soaking up explanations from atheists, agnostics and very well spoken non-believers. I still have yet to find an answer that makes sense and fully satiates my curiosity on the matter. But I did find this quote while on a rabbit trail and digging into the history of this guy... #lifeofahomeschoolmom If there is no God, everything is permitted. -Fyodor Dostoevsky
