After the 2000 presidential election, after Al Gore lost his home and other border southern states, the geniuses running the Democratic party decided to abandon gun control as an issue in order to court southern white men (hows that working out for you?), thus relieving the NRA et al from any countervailing political pressure against them. With armed insurgents defying state authority at regular intervals these days in our dear United States, it might have been time to revisit that wisdom, if it werent already too late.
