After the 2012 Presidential election, in a national meeting, the leaders of the Republican Party conceded that, before it could increase its numbers, either in the 2014 mid-term elections or the 2016 presidential election, the GOP would have to make in-roads in two important areas: (a) immigration reform; and (b) womens rights.
