After the Civil War was won & Lincoln (with the extreme help of his wife), issued his proclaimed judgement on freedom for the slaves,--and with no mechanism in place as protection against the Uncle Tom movement (white guerrilla warfare against blacks)----the secessionists, slave holders, the racists & bigots went into hiding somewhat for the next hundred & forty years--only to emerge now out of the American backdrop & woodwork and into full, unashamed view, now that the U.S. has acquired a black U.S. President. This is like the straw that broke the camels back for those bigots---the last straw of inclusionary action of emancipation.
