After the big announcement on WIN news last night for the official signing of Chris Giampaolo to the Redan footy club, he was keen to get into the RAD centre this morning to keep putting the effort into his athletic development.Video showing some highlights of the session. Session started with basic skipping- one of the easiest ways to first of all ,warm the body up, but also get the added benefit of low load plyometrics (increase stiffness/elasticity = quicker and more efficient athlete) he completed 40 double leg bounces, 20 single each leg, 40 double. Then into the shed working on lower body strength (Squat - push movement) and upper body vertical pull movement (pull up) with weight. As a footballer, Gia doesnt need to be able to complete 20 pull ups, doesnt need upper body strength endurance, more interested in max strength/power and this time of year hypertrophy, hence why we have added weight to his body so that he can only get 6-8 reps done (greater improvements in strength/hypertrophy in this range). The end of video just shows some quick examples of some landing drills that I was mucking around with, variety of heights, minimal contact time on the ground, trying to keep eyes looking up, solid base of support on landing and always looking to move into an attacking position. #RADcentre #GoPro #landing #squat #pullup #jump
