After the death and resurrection of The Christ many people wrote - TopicsExpress

After the death and resurrection of The Christ many people wrote what we call The Gospels. The word Gospel translated means (The Good News!) Its estimated upwards of 30 of these Gospels were written around those times, however ( Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) are the Gospels in the New Testament you may be most familiar with. So far, Ive read The Gospels of Mary, The Gospel of Judas, The Gospel of Thomas and presently reading the Gospel of Truth. For me personally these *not officially* canonized books only add to my already sincere faith in The Christ and his teachings. I apologize in advance if these works are found offensive to anyone, I sincerely enjoy all knowledge. Gnostics, Gnostic Gospels, & Gnosticism A one-sentence description of Gnosticism: a religion that differentiates the evil god of this world (who is identified with the god of the Old Testament) from a higher more abstract God revealed by Jesus Christ, a religion that regards this world as the creation of a series of evil archons/powers who wish to keep the human soul trapped in an evil physical body, a religion that preaches a hidden wisdom or knowledge only to a select group as necessary for salvation or escape from this world.
