After the mediocrity that was Interstellar I went on a science - TopicsExpress

After the mediocrity that was Interstellar I went on a science fiction spree and re-watched some excellent science fiction films. Nolans cinematic father Stanley Kubricks 2001 was the first and it was excellent, I followed it up with Solaris and Blade Runner, all these films never fail to amaze me no matter how many times I watch them. Solaris is the only one that qualifies for this group and I am going to give a short review of the film because its very mysterious the less you know about the film the better will be experience. Based on Stansilaw Lems novel of the same name, it deals with a psychologist Kris Kelvin sent up to a space station of the planet Solaris to evaluate the deteriorating mental condition of the 3 scientists aboard the space station. Upon reaching the station Kelvin finds out that the scientists may have stumbled upon intelligent life form but its beyond the comprehension of mankind. I dont want to reveal anything else and I would implore you guys not to watch the trailer either. Some minor gripes include bad pacing and it does get a bit bloated at 3 hours. But these are very minor from an otherwise tight and fantastic old school science fiction film without all the bang and boom of action movies which have taken over the modern science fiction genre. Lastly any science fiction movie you guys recommend? imdb/title/tt0069293/?ref_=nv_sr_1
