After the second world war, where our grandparents fought and sacrificed so much, they built us a society where people would be equal. The wealth of our country was shared so that all could enjoy it and prosper. They wanted a fair society where everyone had a chance to live in a decent home and have healthcare and support when they were struggling. Since the witch took power in 1979 her and cronies have systematically tried to destroy everything our grandparents built for us and are trying to return us to a time where all the things we should take for granted are privileges afforded only to the rich. Those same rich who increase their wealth by exploiting the poor. The selling of our housing stock is a double theft from the tax payers of this country. Taxes built the houses that were then sold off before the costs could be recouped. What should have been an investment for future generations was a free handout for the buy to let landlords across the country who then pushed the rents up so high that people can no longer afford to pay their rent without help from the state, giving more handouts to the same landlords. Meanwhile, millions of hardworking families have no hope of improving their lives as their income is lost on extortionate rents and every pay rise leads to reductions in their housing benefit leaving them with no extra money for all their hard work and efforts. We need to take a stand against this. We are dishonouring everything that our grandparents did for us by allowing the government to pillage all that we have for their own greed.
