After the successful launch of Dr. Jette Gabiolas book in FEU, Rosanna called me in the office to ask if I was free that night. She was planning a get together with the author who just happens to be Moms primary physician. I said yes and was told the meeting place was the Makati Shangri-la. Also present would be Dr. Jettes students from Stanford who were working with her or various projects in the Philippines. When I got to the hotel, a slight detour took me unexpectedly to the launch of an intensified series of service agreements between Philippine Airlines and Etihad. I just had to stop and take photos of the planes! Upon reaching Inagiku, the look of surprise and confusion on Dr. Jettes students was priceless as they saw me in FEU and did not know why I just happened to be there too especially since their mentor at the last minute could not join. They were with Dr. Dante Morales, who was also at the book launch and who happened to be our late grandfathers wonderful cardiologist. Others in the group reflected just how small our worlds can be - from the best friend of an ex of one of Dr. Jettes students to a seatmate on a flight to Hong Kong who was also a Stanford student. Totally random but much fun!
