After the successful performance of Aji Lhamu dance of Monpa and Shertukpen tribe representing Arunachal Pradesh in the Republic Day Tableau held January last, the expert committee of Ministry of Defence, Govt of India has nominated IGU dance of the Mishmi priest as the theme of the forthcoming Republic Day Tableau - 2015 parade in New Delhi to represent the state. Let us all pray and hope that our dance will be selected. Besides the IGU dance, the tableau will also showcase Mishmis unique textile/handicrafts. The last tableau presentation from the state of Arunachal Pradesh was in 2008 on the Dances of Khamtis of Lohit district which earned huge appreciations at the national level.
