After twelve hours away from us, we were finally able to see Zoey on the PICU floor at 730pm. Considering the rough road behind and before her, she is doing amazingly well. Her profile has changed and it was a little hard to take in at first. But her eyes have the same intense spark of life that they always have had. That is what helped me to quickly recognize the she is still Zoey in there. Over the next few days her eyes will swell shut and she will need a lot of comfort from familiar voices and textures. Please add prayers for Michael and I to remain strong for her while she depends on us. Our little girl is back and we are so grateful for another day with this special, stubborn, precious gift from God. Thank you, God, for your blessings today!!
