After very careful deliberation, we are now ready to announce the winner of our recent Gunvolt contest! Congratulations to Matt James McBride, who secured our Azure Striker Gunvolt press kit with his incredibly passionate message below! --------------- The only thing harder than imagining a reality where I dont own this, is trying to sum up what I love so much about Azure Striker Gunvolt. Even if I could separate myself from my tremendous Inti Creates bias, Id still feel that Gunvolt is an utterly infallibly stupendously perfect gaming masterpiece. The psychic-fueled electric punk story hits all the right buttons for me, both the sprite and character art are right up my alley (Udon, can we have a complete art works book now please?) and the gameplay presents the perfect blend of satisfying retro action blended with refreshing new depth. Its my game of the year; my favorite 3DS game, and I hope the success of this title will lead to direct sequels- a brand new series on the same tier as some of our favorite Capcom classics. --------------- Awesome job, Matt! Well be sending you a message via FB soon. Please reply within the next 48 hours to claim your prize. A -very- close runner-up was John Krumrine, who submitted the message below. Honestly, this really came down to the wire in the judging phase, so major props to John, as well! ---------------- Gunvolt is like a love letter from Mega Man Zero himself, living on in spirit through an amazing action game! The original characters create a marvelously deep lore, giving birth to what could be a strong and robust series for a new generation. Its a Mega Man game without being a Mega Man game, which is a wonderful opportunity for old and new gamers alike; the old looking for a nostalgic experience while being entertained by something new, and the new getting to experience a work of art that is the result of years of perfecting the action game form. I love that the true essence of the Zero series has the opportunity to live on in the new franchise, and that it might inspire a new generation of gamers to search out its roots and create new Mega Man fans! ----------------- Other runner-ups included Tyreek Hauser, Brandon Beamon, Brandon Parrott, Derek Dailey, Kayla Zachary, Collin Robertson, Cory T Burns, Zachary Knowles, Jinx Wolf, Mike Stalcup, Eddwin Cantu, and Mounir Jemily, whose comments you can read in our original contest post: https://facebook/GetMeOffTheMoon/photos/a.149346488472934.36493.149316248475958/706130906127820/?type=1 To everyone else: thanks a ton for participating! In total, we received over 250 messages, which was quite a load of work for judging! Being a massive fan of Gunvolt (which I, like Matt, deem to be the best 3DS game released so far) and an uber fan of Inti Creates myself, though, I must say that I had an absolutely fantastic time reading through all your guys thoughts! Its just awesome to know how much people in are enjoying this amazing title! As is the case with many contests, there were, of course, several contenders for this prize; but alas, since we only had one of these press kits, we were forced to narrow the results down to one winner who particularly stood out to us as a massive fan. That said, Id like to reassure everyone right now that there were no losers in this contest. You all won... Its just that not all of you got prizes for winning. :P Anyway, congrats to Matt again for winning our press kit for Azure Striker Gunvolt! Heres hoping that well be able to do something like this again in the future! - Skybane
