After waiting 6 months to get into my Heart Doctor I FINALLY know - TopicsExpress

After waiting 6 months to get into my Heart Doctor I FINALLY know whats going on with my Fast Heart Rate! Just by being hooked up to my EKG for a minute, laying flat on my back and turning my head to the right a little bit my New Heart Doctor figured out what has been going on for the last 3 years. Its amazing what can happen in a short period of time instead of going through all these tests. I have now been diagnosed with (I.S.T) known as Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. I know what your thinking (wait... what)? Well it turns out my Sinus Node where originally a pacemaker would sit, that nerve tissue is damage from my nerve system to where it is also connecting to my AV Node. So starting Tuesday August 5th i have to be hooked up to a Heart Monitor for 24 hours and wait for the results. Then December 5th i get a Ultrasound on my heart to if my heart is getting weak since i am at the point. I also have to do a sleep study to see what is going on during the night. 2 weeks after that i go back in and get the test results! If he doesnt like what he sees then we decide if we want to do surgery. Where he goes through my groin up to the Sinus Node and burns part of the tissue to see if it will drop my heart rate but if it doesnt work then its a pacemaker at the age of 22! He explained so much for me in such amount of time to where I fully understand compared to the other heart doctors I have had in the past. Thank you Rachel Smith-Saulsbury and Darla Saulsbury for taking me :) Now to focus on what he recommended!
