After watching Meet the Press I have decided to draw the line with cartoonish politicians. The main topic was the bankruptcy of Detroit. Current Gov. Rick Snyder has changed his mind 180 degrees from two years ago and now supports it. That might be fine as conditions do change but then he proceeded to ignore almost every question and give his campaign speech. It was so sad to watch this buffoon ignore questions, refuse any responsibility, and give no real hope to anyone. For those that think this is just a Republican condition you would be wrong. Former Gov. Jennifer Granholm a Democrat came on. She was smoother and more articulate but more of the same. She accepted no blame whatsoever, blamed Congress, and threw out the fact it was not just in Detroit that this was happening. I got to see the worst of both parties on display. It used to be the odd, eccentric, and strange politicians were so rare they were actually interesting to follow regardless of party. Now some have banded together and have taken control of various bodies. When did crazy become the norm. To paraphrase Michael Douglas in the American President "These are serious times and we need serious people." We do have them. The problem is that they seem to be in the minority.
